It's hard for some of us because we no longer see a long career ahead, and we aren't sure how we'll support ourselves and our families. On top of that, many of us built our identity around our craft. Now we're dealing with losing a part of ourselves and the thing that gave our lives meaning.

Developers are told that coding was never the important part of the job. For most of us, it was. We're told to start thinking about product decisions and talking to customers, when many of us have never had that kind of exposure. We're told to adapt, that new jobs will be created, and we're expected to just deal with it quietly.
This community is for us. It's a place where you can talk openly about the real issues we face as people whose careers are exposed to AI. You can joke bluntly about your fears here, and you'll find peers who are also trying to figure out how they'll fit in and survive in the future.
